Time of Giving?

I was able to scrounge up some of past years wrapping paper. That means that only a couple of select lucky people will receive their gifts wrapped in newspaper this year. Sorry to everyone else! :)

One way to consider reducing waste this year is to give gift certificates. However, I am still not a fan of wasting plastic. That said, if you do receive a re-loadable gift card this year, consider saving it for a future gift. Even better... why not donate money to someone's favorite charity? (I hear some groans out there.) I for one would be more than pleased to "receive" that gift.

~And, along the same line, thanks to Grateful Lisa and her big heart of ideas, why not "adopt" a child this year? What would be a greater joy than to give money every month to help raise a child? Giving doesn't have to be only during this time of giving. Doesn't get much greener than that!

Hi Kirsten,

I LOVE your ideas. I know some folks are gonna be perplexed by gifts wrapped in Hubby-Honey's Wall St. Journal pages tied with green ribbon, but oh well. :-)

For more info on sponsoring a child, folks can check out http://www.worldvision.org. Thanks for the kind mention.
