Flushing

As many people know, older toilets use up A LOT of water! Toilets before 1982 flush either 5 or 7 gpf (gallons per flush) depending on the specific toilet. With time comes change. Eventually toilets were improved to 3.5 Gallons. From 1992 until current times, toilets flush 1.6 gallons! The Santa Cruz Water Department helped fill me in on some information that my informative husband started me on some time ago.

One old solution to help reduce water with older toilets is to fill a gallon jug with water and place it in your tank. This means there is less water to refill with each flush. Happy flusing!
