Last night while I was at the gym with my husband, I was in a blur. In the background there was the radio playing as usual. Not paying any attention, I was struck when the only words that I heard from a commercial were, "...greener living..." I was all kinds of excited because I had been searching for a core theme for writing an authentic true-to-myself blog.
I have often been the center of the joke when it comes to my obsession with recycling. Ever since my friend Yumi got me on the recycling ban wagon in college, it's been non-stop ever since. I have an internal drive for living green. However, I am far from an outstanding citizen.
Too often I stray from my human repsonsibilities and get lazy. I want to utilize this blog as a tool to remind myself and others of what can be done. Whether it's on a large scale or small scale, it's good to be aware of changes that can be made. As individuals, we must be aware of our role in the larger scheme of things.
Our damaged earth and the beings that live on it are suffering as a result of human actions. For today, let's start simple. Save some energy and turn off the lights.
