AFP - Nobel Peace Prize-winner and former US vice president Al Gore said Monday that he believes Washington will sign up to a new climate change treaty in Copenhagen in 2009.
Apparently we were the only industrialized country not to sign up to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. Was it just not "important" enough to join the rest of the industrialized world in committing to stabilizing emissions or did the U.S. pull the ole "global warming has nothing to do with emissions" bit? We suck.
